Pingout, mash up between Pong and BreakOut, was the first project done through the practice of UrbanCoding, with Yann-Aël Le Borgne.
While coding at Le Tavernier, a pub in south Brussels, we started playing with the idea of a breakout mapped over a real brick wall. After a few tests, the result ended up a two player game: one player on top, one on the bottom, layers of brick in between. You die as Pong -if a ball fall from your end- and live as breakout -you need to break bricks to send them on the other side-. A little twist: each player are represented by a colour and their ball can't go through bricks the other player has destroyed.
